Ending Child Trafficking

Upcoming “Day of Defense” Empowers Families to
Recognize and Prevent Exploitation

Highlands Ranch, CO — A new nonprofit, Colorado Faith Alliance (CFA), has launched with a bold mission: to end child exploitation and trafficking in Colorado through education, prevention, advocacy, prayer, and strategic partnerships. By uniting churches, community leaders, and concerned citizens, CFA confronts trafficking at both the grassroots and policy levels.

“Our mission is simple but urgent,” said Abby Corrigan, Founder and CEO of Colorado Faith Alliance. “Every child deserves to be protected. Therefore, we’re mobilizing churches, schools, and communities across Colorado to take action—whether that’s through awareness, prevention training, or direct support to survivors.”

To mark its official launch, Colorado Faith Alliance will host its first major event, the Day of Defense, on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at RidgeGate Convention Center in Lone Tree, CO.  This public awareness event will not only feature expert speakers, child safety advocates, prevention resources but alson clear calls to action for individuals, churches, and organizations looking to make a difference.

Event Highlights Include:

  • For Teens and Youth:  Presentation from online safety & digital defense led by Florida State Advocate of the Year, Lynne Barletta
  • For Moms and Kids:  Self-defense demonstrations for kids taught by Sr. Martial Arts World Champion Tyler Weaver, Sr.
  • For Parents and Families-Prevention tools for communities, and educators so they can recognize warning signs of trafficking and grooming, decrypt kids text and understand what happens in secret rooms on gaming platforms

Importantly, Colorado ranks among the top states for reported trafficking activity, which makes the organization’s work especially timely and necessary.

“We believe communities of faith can be powerful agents of change,” Corrigan added. “Ultimately, this alliance isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about raising up people who will stand in the gap for the vulnerable.”
